After a long, heated debate, the Vacaville City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved two appeals to a proposed apartment complex in Southtown, halting it. The proposed complex, which would consist of 236 units, was approved by the Vacaville Planning Commission in a narrow 4-3 vote in August. The complex would take up 9.91 acres of land in the surrounding area and require over 468 parking spots across 14 three-story buildings. The complex is massive in comparison to the residential area in the overall Southtown development.
