On Tuesday, Vacaville Mayor John Carli declared May 21-27 'National Public Works Week.' He also proclaimed May 22-28 'Building Safety Week' in the city. The Council unanimously adopted a resolution to approve an amendment to the contract between the Board of Administration of California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) and the Vacaville City Council. The amendment changes the current 'cost share' from 1.25% to 0.50%. The total contribution from new employees remains at eight%. This will result in no change to pension benefits for employees.
