Two Memorial Day events will be held in coming days and the community is invited to both. At 9 a.m. Saturday, gather at the flag assembly area at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road in Dixon. The U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West will play, the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery Honor Guard will perform their duties and speakers will include Mayor Steve Bird and Col. Derek Salmi, commander of the 60th Air Mobility Wing at Travis Air Force Base. Following the ceremony, flags will be placed at every gravesite.
