VACAVILLE – Crews working on the Express Lane project on Interstate 80 'nicked' a water main that irrigates the plants and foliage in the highway median and caused localized flooding in the Alamo Drive area. The California Highway Patrol issued a warning to motorists because of the standing water on the Alamo Drive off-ramps from eastbound and westbound I-80. The break occurred about 9 a.m. Joanna Leal, public relations manager for Vacaville, said Public Works personnel were able to turn off the water on both sides of the interstate to limit the flooded area.
